Too sensitive.

Yes, I am too sensitive.

Yes, I am too emotional.

Yes, I overthink things.

‘Stop taking things too personally’, they said.

‘You should relax’, they said.

‘Stop thinking so much’, they said.

Well you know what I say?

You’ll never see things the way I see.

You’ll never appreciate things the way I appreciate.

You’ll never feel as deeply as I do.

You’ll never be as passionate as I am.

You’ll never love the way I love.

You’ll never live the way I live.

So stop telling me how I should be

and start thinking about how you’ll never be.

  1. Lol exactly what I feel most of the time. I think us artists.. We have quite a well developed ‘lunar side’. We are like the moon. Up and down up and down.. Philosophical and intense.. Sure to the more practical ‘solar people’ we appear like soft hearted wusses. Truth is, I feel for them really… They miss out on such a lot. They haven’t learnt to open themselves and their perception to life to even the first degree. Our work and their world.. It’s the same.. But entirely different. πŸ˜‰

    1. Hahah that is a very good point.. Although I don’t like regarding myself as an ‘artist’, necessarily.. I believe most people have a ‘lunar side’ to them, just chose to never bring it to the surface πŸ˜› Something I read in a Coelho book and liked, is: ‘people do their best not to remember and not to accept the immense potential they possess, because that would upset their neat little universes.’ But you are right, I do believe they miss out on a lot… And need more to be pleased. I don’t think many would be all that happy, by just looking at the sky, or being on a train, like us πŸ˜› In fact, whenever I mention how much I enjoy being on trains, they think I’m crazy πŸ˜› Most can’t wait for the moment to get off, I get sad when the moment comes to get off πŸ˜›

      1. This is all so accurate! I think the idea most people are running from in this world today is this: ‘ There is immense power in every single action and every single thought’. In a world fast being dictated by the ideas and values of quantity more than quality.. People have begun to forget what savouring life is really about! It’s the small things, the ‘trivial’ things that really make life worth living. What is the point of an overpriced penthouse suite by the beach if you can’t appreciate the sunrise in the morning and the moonlight at night? Then again.. If those are really the things that warrant true observation and appreciation what is the point of being chained to penthouse suite by the beach. Lol! Why stay attached to possessions and ‘swags’ when the best things in life ate free? It’d pointless. I think this has more to do with spirituality than being artistic.. Then again.. The greatest artists in history have been some of the most austere and frugal people. Lol, I am not surprised. πŸ˜‰

      2. Yes, I totally agree Jay.. People are so fixated on material goals, as if when achieving them all problems will go away… As if once we achieve them, all of a sudden we will be ‘happy’… But few realize that being happy is an important part of the whole journey, not the end result…

    1. I think most people who are somewhat silent and introverts get told that at some point in their lives… Thank you for your kind words and for reading!! ❀ ❀
